Complications: Perhaps the only vig was a wolf vig.

That would be awesome, except for the fact that the rules clearly say there's a human vig. ;)

Assumptions on how the Miller should be handled are polluting the humans' minds. The rules may say the Miller is told to the player but players are reasoning that it may not make sense due to the role's nature.

Paranoia may help Cato. Hmmm.

PJ has picked up on the fact that Crassus had one last chance to use his power to prove his Liar-ness before he lost it and didn't. This could be key for Cato!

I'm kind of enjoying the lines of thought that follow from "The rules say the Miller would be told, but that makes no sense."

Rule of thumb for future games: do not underestimate my potential for stupidity.

Thanks for the game necklessone. Interesting concept in handling the wolves.

Trying to remember if that was my first time being a GA or not. Can't recall. But certainly could have done better especially at the end since I could have done a better job guessing what the wolves would do with the maul. Waiting a day on Smirker while risky (and in this case might have left me not Seer'd) could have set us up for another vision. Also skipping my turn in the end using the reasoning that they'd want a for sure maul in Rictus making me safe could have set-up another block.

I really hope that they manage to finish strong on this one. I think there is some doubt floating around about the other humans, but even if you ignore the roles I think Cato has some suspicious votes which should put him above the others. And if you combine the role reveals it pretty much puts a giant arrow on Cato as the last wolf.

Sure, here you go.

Pompey sphendont
Cato DastardlyOldMan
Crassus Admetus
Caesar Clearasday

I didn't earlier because I thought some people might want it to be a surprise until the end.

We had 4 masks? Huh.

For some reason with the recent influx of players I'd thought 1-2 of those were just new-ish.

[e] And now I go in and look at the house of masks. Facepalm.

Oh, I knew this was related to the choosing from the very beginning. You said you had an idea for the choosing in last game's discussion. That's also why I went a little crazy about MEM at the end there. I knew the point of the game was the choosing, and for a bit things lined up like it was meant to be figured out by the active players, not just the dead.

I was focusing on the second part, which I figured might have superseded the first:
?x Vigilante (Human or Wolf)

But really it was never a major concern. The miller thing was, though.

You have my explicit request for clarification in this very thread. I didn't do it publicly because I knew I would be left alive and didn't have to put any cards on the table for the wolves.

I wasn't actually trying to hide my style in the slightest. Honestly I just want to help encourage more people to play with masks, because they're cool. Personally I got CAD right and had been tipped off to sphenodont (as he was to me), but I didn't guess DOM.

I'm glad I played the mask (even if that third-person posting style was utter garbage - I should've been lynched just for that, on principle). I got a chance to setup a slightly different rhythm (posting at off-times from when I normally would, saying something ridiculous like "I like ties", etc.) - and let's be honest, if that had been DOM on the final day instead of Cato, I would've had three four votes locked in within minutes of the day flipping over :D

That said: goddammit, could I please NOT be a wolf for a couple of games now? Maybe even two in a row? I swear there's a GM conspiracy, and you all are just f'ing with me now! :flail: :flail: :flail:

Honestly, I couldn't see a method in which necklessone could safely answer that, so why bother (also, I kinda knew the answer already  ). Basically, you're roundabout-asking the GM directly if one of the players is lying, and that's just not something the GM can really answer without compromising the game.

Good game all. I think the mask accounts added a bit of fresh to the game.

Necklessone, thanks for running the game. One thing that impresses me is how many GMs we have on this forum who are willing to give up so much time and effort for us to play our little mind games. :slow_clap: <- not a slow clap. A real clap of appreciation.

Oh, I agree on that. And my hope would've been that Neckless would've ignored/refused to answer the question. But still, I felt like someone should've at least asked the question in the Day Thread, given the intense focus that was being placed on the question.

I concluded that there was no way he could answer it safely, so I didn't bother. Which was a judgment that was vindicated by Crassus/Admetus saying he'd asked.

It did bug me that the Miller knew who he was, but it almost worried me so much that it wrapped back around to making me doubt MEM. Because why would the Miller know? But in the end the posts around/about rekard's counter-claim were too natural.
