I'm less likely to blame that on the ubiquitous remote access and more likely to blame it on the undervaluing of support/QA. In my place, QA sounds like your support department. Anyone who gets hired there is either working to prove they deserve a better job in administration, account management, development, anything -- or failing to show that they're very skilled. As a result, QA is really difficult to work with. They need so much hand holding.

I'm told by the greyer beards that places that do things "better" or "the old way" incentivize their best talent to stay in QA. The idea is something like: smart people who expect their work to be checked will produce more bugs in releases than slightly less smart people backed up by talented QA. I don't know if it's true, I just wish there wasn't a filtering effect making it so difficult to work with them.

And like... then you just tell your staff that the job isn't done until it's documented.

I've decided I need to do some digital cleanup so I'm killing any accounts I have named "twdog" and that includes my account here at TWG. This doesn't have anything to do with anyone here, not even rekard, but it's something I'm doing across the board. Or maybe it's because I'm afraid of losing a day 4 duel with zark. So, I won't be posting here anymore after today. I'd like to come back in a bit, but it'll be under a different name if I do.

I imagine it'll be obvious in like 2 seconds ... "Hi, you never heard of me before, but I'd like to sign up in the GM queue for a game with a ton mask accounts and night actions. Also look at these pony cartoons I made." However, I'd rather you not mention it, even if it's painfully obvious.

---

To be honest, I'm not concerned about this site, it's very quiet here, but i'm trying to kill off all twdog accounts I use on a regular basis regardless. Unfortunately conflicts another twdog account is involved in have started to bleed into real life, and an ally I'm close to was swat'd. I'm not going to shut up, but a little compartmentalization seems prudent.

makes me wish we could do a massive "find and replace" over the weekend and replace twdog with "BillyBoBo" or something. Then he could still be around.

Overlords, if I may: can you use your unholy powers to change the account which shall not be named to one of two things on this and prior forum?

1) ParanoidVampire
2) HeWhoMustNotBeNamed

I won't suggest we edit posts or votes, but the smaller the footprint, the better?

Sometimes, the onion just nails it. This week's horoscope column is on of those times

Scorpio | Oct. 23 to Nov. 21

Your two pack-a-day habit will finally kill you this week, but then, that’s a lot of wolves to fight off.

I sold my house (under contract now for a couple of weeks, inspections and appraisals and such ongoing) and have to move out by end-of-month. As I pack up ~19 years of accumulation, I'm thinking that I should've considered the arson option much, much more seriously.

That's when you order in a dumpster and "pack" your things that way. Still even have the arson option though the dumpster people, your neighbors, and the fire department might not be happy with you.

Hah, the Silly Songs section of that stuff is really good. I'm sorry if someone is pushing it on unwilling audiences, it's perfectly good for the already-religious.

I enjoy the silly songs (which tend not to be religious in nature, unless there are depths of metaphor I am missing in such standards as "Where is my Hairbrush" & "Dance of the Cucumber"). This was Noah and the ark, whose underlying theme is blind trust in the Lord (and in Noah as the patriarch who is in the Lord's confidence).

We are trying to raise a pair of free thinking girls, and ~want~ them to question authority. Especially these days.

Honestly, it's two weekends in a row with my Mom, who is without a rudder since we lost Dad back in 2011. She sees his face in mine, and is starting to lose her faculties.

It is too damn much & abrades in a way it probably shouldn't.

Yes, Carrie Fisher yesterday and her Mother Debbie Reynolds today. (who was first famous for her "Singing in the Rain" lead role). :shake:

Kenny Baker, ALan Rickman, Gene Wilder, my own uncle, George Michael, Prince, Lemmy, David Bowie and so many others who influenced so many (Fidel Castro was a good one to go though - although his proclamation to not die until after seeing the USA being destroyed and then dying after the election of Donald Trump is a little horrifying) - this has been a banner suck year in so many ways.

At this point I'm not staying up on New Year's Eve to celebrate the new Year as much as to spit in the face of current one. 2016 can suck a syphilitic cock and DIAF.
