Who's the seer; who's the vig? Don't see it posted anywhere for the eyes of the freedead.

*sigh* totally only realized after Okaros's post that I a) should have kept people out of the dead and b) should have at least kept the Seer/Vig from you guys until WoGs were dealt with. My bad.

Zark has volunteered to take Rictus's spot (being a wolf spot) and says he didn't see who the specials were, but since he posted literally right above me here I'm not sure how I feel about that. Either way, I removed him from the Dead for the time being. Thoughts? Or should I just forget it and replace him with whoever gets lynched tonight?

Sucks for the wolves, but if spheno rejected or failed to respond I would just officially WoG the role as opposed to giving it to an already "passed beyond" player or a random day 3 death.

Ah, I can stretch out and watch the rest. Missing that vote made me feel guilty, so I can't feel very sad about being mauled. It's funny that my two intentional votes were for wolves (not counting forced defensive vote on Rave), but it's almost entirely coincidence.

The funny part is he didn't have any information that would have made that a save. It was just a late vote to make a tie, I guess.

Dilemma: How do I announce lynch-or-lose-with-WoG without skewing strategy or giving away Blindsniper's role? Or should I leave them to figure it out for themselves? I've already announced that there are 4 wolves, they know that tomorrow is lynch-or-lose, but nobody has put together that if Blindsniper is WoG'd they lose anyway.

If you want to mention it, you can put it in the context of a vote tally that emphasizes Blindsniper will be WOG'd if he doesn't show up. Then you can hedge giving as little or as much explanation as you want.

The wolves have gotten a bit of a boon by not losing a wolf to WOG (role recycle). Of course, the humans don't know that, but... if the scale tilted once towards wolf & they're now lynch-or-lose-with-WoG of a human... I'd be tempted to balance by revealing him as human.

I don't think the wolves would mind in context... you might have to explain it really slow a couple of times, but I'm changing the subject.

So, if blindsniper doesn't show up, do I rep him or kill him?

Pros: Precedent. I did it for the wolves.
Cons: It's way late in the game for that. It's going to be either Okaros (a wolf) or Omega (the seer). Omega's dumped already so it doesn't make much of a difference, but he was still special. Okaros is obviously invalid.

Lynch Okaros, the wolf, today and we still have 2 missed lunches to go, which we will very much want to win.

They should have left rave bomb alive. Rekard is smart, he should be able to puzzle it out, I would have mauled him. Which isn't to say RaveBomb isn't smart, but especially the day 3 ending and then the back and forth on day 4, could easily spread some confusion.

But I would want Visigoth and RaveBomb in the final 3 with sphenodont, if I'm the wolves.

Rictus -> Spheno hurts.

You were right to withhold as long as possible. As soon as you dumped your visions, there was going to be no useful discussion and the wolves would have better information about how not to reveal themselves. Better to try and stir up conversation and leave more openings for mistakes or tells.

Subject: Day 5: Well that sucks.

Wolfkaros wrote:Really, what are all of you doing? Obviously I'm the real seer. I won my trial-by-combat and emerged the victor! Really though, you should be thanking me. Imagine how boring life would have been if Omega had continued. "Wolf" this and "Wolf"
that. Eventually he'd have seen everyone as a wolf, and when we're all wolves where's teh fun in that?

My daughter has a turn of phrase: "This will give you a kick out". Its origin should be evident, but let's not bury the lead... I did get a kick out of this...

My first round in the GM's chair ("Terminator: Temporal Anomalies" in Oct 2011) was based upon conditional conversion. The Alpha wolf didn't know who the other wolves were - The act of seering or mauling a wolf would "activate" them if they were predisposed to being a wolf. The first seer attempt woke Dom up, & started a long trend of him being a wolf Every. Single. Time. I. Host. A. Game. The last game I hosted (The Inception Mariachi Funeral) had Dom as a human, but when level 1 collapsed into level 2, Dferrantino as first dead was given the opportunity to select one wolf for the next phase of the game, & of course picked Dom.

Good times. The failures in that first skin were legion, including the fact that Seer output didn't actually say "Hey, Dom's got a metal skeleton under said skin". This was intended as a bit of balance... it would suck to be converted to a wolf & immediately outed in the day thread, but Hilarity ensued as the first wolf was considered a confirmed human. Also, Wasabi & both got laid off that week.

Anyway, after such a catastrophic start, I probably should not be thinking of reviving the Conditional Conversion model, but.. and this is the important part... I am. but I'm also wondering about a more traditional wolf game with a couple of custom specials. Has anyone ever run an insane seer variant where two players are told they've got the capability, but one is wrong every time? Such a "wrong" seer would likely hit humans and return a series of wolves like Omega did... I for one would probably question my luck with that many hits in a row... Long story short, I could see a role reveal playing out like this thread with only slightly less licking of the chops.

Yeah, like that.

I would post in the F5 or elsewhere in the pub, but it's ~possible~ someone doesn't think Okaros is a wolf. Not bloodly likely, but I digress. I may revisit this later to a wider audience...

The Alpha wolf didn't know who the other wolves were - The act of seering or mauling a wolf would "activate" them if they were predisposed to being a wolf. This woke Dom up, & started a long trend of him being a wolf Every. Single. Time. I. Host. A. Game. The last game I hosted (The Inception Mariachi Funeral) had Dom as a human, but when level 1 collapsed into level 2, Dferrantino as first dead was given the opportunity to select one wolf for the next phase of the game, & of course picked Dom.

I mean, DOM and I are kind of a thing.

Anyway, after such a catastrophic start, I probably should not be thinking of reviving the Conditional Conversion model, but.. and this is the important part... Only one I can think of was the "Too Many Seers" variants that have been run...twice? Were you around for those? Pretty sure you were. At any rate, in those variants you knew that there was likely a catch so they were more "try to figure out which Seer I am" rather than "I'M RIGHT GODDAMMIT".

Oh, and Omega definitely questioned his sanity more than once.

I accused dferr of fucking with me at least once if not twice. And I certainly double and triple checked the rules looking for a possibility of an unreliable Seer.

I am tempted to rerun that.

I am further tempted to tell noone WTF I'm doing.
If our team loses, it's going to be entirely your fault.-rekard
If you still end up losing after this, it's totally not your fault.-Hellheart
RB: I shot the seer didn't I? Omega: Of course you did.

The Too Many Seers game I ran (as The Wolfing Game) is my favorite if the games I've run.

The humans need to force more discussion. The Rictus -> sphenodont conversion is going to make catching him TOUGH.

Agreed. I know it's going to be difficult, but if they stay as quiet as they've been they're still probably fucked.

Ahhhh, that was delightful. Reddington's a hoot to RP, and I can't believe I actually pulled off counter-claiming.

Omega, dferr, and my fellow wolves....
