Night 1: Fugly B*tches

Postby The Fairy Catmother » 06 Jan 2017, 19:03:23

Let me know if you want to do the maul by group consensus, or last vote override.

When she uses her power, Mercy may pm me or post here, as long as it's vote tagged.

Hi, spheno. What's a Mercy do? My alpha looks pretty normal, though there is only one of you.

-edit-
Oh, I see. A vote manipulation.

Hmm. FCM: When you list out all the possible names and roles in your Everyone's Special game, you're inviting the humans to role claim. It might happen sporadically as the first few people are put up to lynch, but definitely before lynch or lose there will come a day when people just ask for a mass role claim. The wolves can't do anything about it, they either contest and hope to trade lives with the humans, or get lined up and shot.

We definitely can't contest the earlier claims, we'd trade for lesser humans.

I may have to do something like set up seer crumbs to intentionally try to draw out the seer, and use my alpha-ness to survive a little while.

Looking over the early mauls and lynches in the last few games,
#Vote for: Ryvvn
(picked by random.org) is a decent first maul candidate.

Well, there are more players than roles listed.

But perhaps you're right...I listed most of the roles, because that's what I've seen GM's doing most frequently.

I thought about it… And because there aren't that many wolves, I certainly do not want to give the humans an extra advantage (via mass role claimin) that I did not originally intend to give them.

I removed some of the roles from the list. Obviously, some people will remember the roles that they've already seen. But many will not.

Aye. There's a trade-off when laying out the rules so everything's on the table. I think that came into fashion when some games got more and more twisty with secrets. It just has a bit of an unintended consequence when it's combined with Everyone's Special -- I've seen it happen before.

Totally. And I'm still new to GMing, so I hadn't considered that. It makes sense.

Question for you guys...what typically happens when a lynch is attempted on an alpha wolf? I can do what I feel is best, but I'd like to remain consistent with precedent.

Does it just mysteriously end in no lynch, or do GMs actually say something like "Admetus - alpha wolf - NOT LYNCHED"

Just in case that happens tonight...

You could say Admetus was selected for the lynch, but didn't die, and that leaves just the tiny wiggle room of "is it instead that human wife role that was briefly mentioned." That sounds decent. Honestly, I hadn't ever played in a game with an alpha wolf until the one just recently, so there's not really much precedent to worry about.

Changing the maul vote to

#Vote for: Gungnir888 > Blindsniper83

For super low information.

FCM, do you intend to send "you haven't voted yet" PMs? Just asking because I could really use a sphenodont to not get WOG'd. ;)

Right, that's exactly what I was hoping for in that situation. Seems like too much info to confirm the alpha wolf's identity. Keep em guessing.

Yes, I was going to send him a reminder at the same time I send night action reminders. Which is now.
