Shred - Night 7

Not much you can do now, other than hope the King shows you favor.

I was afraid of that.

So I didn't want to push it last night, but could Rekard have been mauled?

I suspect that while he could have been targeted (it was lynch or lose and therefore conditionals wouldn't roll to the next player) he resolution of FCM's role as wolf would have reset the parity count before the maul could take effect, making him immortal once again.

Can you advise?

Unfortunately (because once I made the determination, I had to stick with it), he would not have been eligible with FCM dying first and foremost; his maul would not have brought parity then, so the maul would have missed.

Hey.

King (x1): If detained, may privately choose any other player to trade roles with; new role will be publicly revealed, and may then use the traded power immediately.

Guard (2): If detained, may publicly choose an unrevealed player and publicly guess their role (other than guard); that player (or GM) will respond either "yes" or "no"; if correct, that player gets ejected at the end of the day instead.

Building upon FCM's dialog :If Chris swaps with me, I become king and he becomes a guard, right?

He can the use that power immediately, but I'm the only I revealed player. He can say "zark is king & I eject at end of day.

When exactly is this eject processed in order of operations? And when does Chris remove return to play?

If Chris swaps with you and then uses Guard ability to name you as King, humans win.

You get ejected at end of day and Chris returns to normal play; votes won't matter, and there will be no maul cause you'll be gone.

Yeah - I was afraid of that. Given last night's lynch of Chris, did I have any option to ~successfully~ maul other than Blindsniper?

Unfortunately not.

Well, you could have target rekard and let the maul fail.

Not advocating for a late change - but 2 unmaulable players in the endgame (one detained, the other by role definition) gives me pause.

I understand, there's a lot that just wasn't planned well about this game, unfortunately not much I could do once things started falling into place without upsetting those who fortunately found themselves in an advantageous position. I had also misjudged the likelihood that the Princess would be swapped or eliminated via other means. I appreciate the effort you've given this game, and apologize that the end being out of your hands disregards such efforts.

No worries - despite the discourteous title of this forum, I've found everyone here to be quite friendly. Like we're all royalty or something.

I kind of wanted to give voice before the game resolved as it might sound like sour grapes after if it didn't go my way

End analysis is this is a fun game, would play again.

Briefly confirming this is a valid actionable lynch should we make it to days end:
#Vote for: rekard>chris

Is the lynch a tiebreaker if Chris does nothing? Curious as the way I read the order of operations, he would resolve out first, then lynch occurs (Either way). Then maul. You specifically call out that a wolf in detention should submit a maul vote - can you confirm my maul vote is honored should I be detained?

I suspect we are at parity before the maul is processed, regardless of who is detained since you've established parity is calculated at very end of day & that a deathbed wolf does count, but want to be sure.

If Chris does not act, he would be ejected; votes would be (needlessly) processed; one of you or rekard would be detained; the maul would be processed. If rekard is detained, you would be unable to maul him, but parity would be reached and the game would end; if you are detained, you would maul rekard, and the game will end with you being beyond parity... all alone.

Hmmm. Is no lynch an option?
