Cardassian Roles

Team Ability: The Cardassians are a resourceful people, in fact, they have to be since Cardassia is so resource poor. As a result, you will be able to repurpose other team’s abilities, in order to do so, your team must participate in the deaths of the majority it the other team’s members.

Gul Macet
You are Gul Macet. It is known that Bajor was a fiasco, no doubt about that, but, what is always forgotten is that you weren’t there until the end. This is all really Dukat’s fault. Well, Dukat and Garak. Unfortunately, while Dukat is off wherever he is, you’re here. And you were just about to catch that vole loving bastard.

You will receive a personal victory (and power up) if you discern who Garak is before he otherwise dies. In order to do this, you must PM the GM. You may only do this three times per game and may not do it on consecutive days.

You are the ranking officer here and as such, you receive immunity from night kills, if however, you are the target of multiple night kill attempts on the same night, another member of your team will die.

This does not protect you from Garak.
[You have a weapon.]

rekard's upgrade
You have enjoyed an immunity from Night Kills, with you may now extend that protection to another player. This does not compromise your own protection.

Doctor Moset
You are Dr. Moset, a Cardassian Doctor and Scientist who pushed the limits.
You know what the best part of the Occupation was? The willing (or was that unwilling) test subjects. But as as result of their sacrifice, you found out how to partially re-animate a corpse!

You may PM me the name of one dead player who will be revived, without any of their powers. You may PM them anonymously, though me and control their vote (without their knowledge.) You may only have one such corpse at a time.
[You do not have a weapon.]

Silaran Prin
You're Silarin Prin. During the occupation you were on Bajor but served Gul Pirak’s household. You never so much as picked up a phaser rifle. The events of that night fateful night however changed you and set you on a quest for revenge.

- You technical expertise allows you to precisely kill from afar, however, you know that only soldiers deserve to die, if you target a non-military player, this will fail. (One time use.)

- You may also recharge any other player’s one-time use power, this takes 48 hours to reset.

- Finally, there is a Bajoran here, a member of the Shakaar, kill that player and gain a power up.
[You do not have a weapon.]

Elim Garak
You are Elim Garak. You are one of few named roles who’s history is relevant, and I hate to tell you, but your win condition is not the same as your teams. In fact, if the Gul finds out who you are, you will die. That said, he doesn’t know that you can read the Cardassian board.

- If you are Seered by another player, you will return as a member of their faction, you are afterall a masterful gardener, tailor and probably a spy.

- You may PM any number of players per day of messages of 140 characters or less, they may not respond.

- Finally, if the Gul discovers your identity, there is a 50% chance that the bomb you've placed in your bunk will kill him before he can kill you.
[You do not have a weapon.]

Garak's additional goals are below

Given Garak's complicated past and relationship with Cardassia, you have a couple of different ways to win.

1) Return triumphantly to Cardassia - Eliminate both the Gul and the Obsidian Order member (Other Cardassians neither hurt nor help you in this case)
2) Follow your father's path and reclaim the Obsidian Order as your own - Eliminate the other faction's spies, you do not necessarily have to eliminate the Obsidian Order member for this (After day 3 the other spies will know of each other and be working towards this goal)
3) Outlast everyone else (The Sociopath win condition)

Remember, you will Seer as the Seer's own faction in most cases

Also, as other spies use their powers (after Day 3) you will be informed of all of their uses, and the results of their Seer visions (if any.)

You will receive details of the Spies' mission when they receive them.

In the case of win condition 2, the Gul will be told he has failed in his pursuit, as the Order will protect you against him.

Dejar Faction Spy
You are Dejar, a Scientist working on subspace communications. While you have experience with subspace relays, recently, you have turned your attention to the view screens are on every building on Cardassia. Why the shift? Because the message is important! Of course “Communications Officer” is a bit of a double entendre, so you have two abilities,

- Each night you may direct a message to a specific player, if that player choses to respond, you will receive a dossier on that player and he will be roleblocked the following day (though otherwise targetable.)

- Each day you may send a public message to the whole playerbase. PM the GM and I’ll post it.

You are affiliated with the Obsidian Order, but you should not reveal this affiliation to anyone. (Your Cover identity is Ulani Belor)

The Garak/Gul sub-plot is mostly here to balance out, over the long run, how power I think the Cardassian faction ability is.

Also, Gul Macet was played by Marc Alaimo, who also played Gul Dukat.

Federation Roles

Team Ability: The Federation is immune from other faction's vote manipulation powers.

Federation Captain Benjamin Sisko
You are Captain in Starfleet posted to one of the most strategically unimportant places in the Federation.

You’re known to be incorruptible, but if you can turn the tide here at the price of one Romulan Senator, you can probably live with that. You will receive a power up if you participate in the death of a certain Romulan Senator.

Nevertheless, the horrors of Wolf 359 weigh heavily upon you’ve become a bit paranoid. You will be aware of any visitors who visit your teammates and the type of power that was targeted.

You may draw on your tactical experience in the event of any combat situation and will “win” any tied situation or any normal night kill situation. (This does not protect against a maul.)
[You have a weapon]

Visigoth's Powerup
Things have gotten crazy around here Captain.

You may now shift a player's vote (without their knowledge) each day.

Federation Mid-Level Lackey
You are a mid-level lackey in the Federation. While you served time in Starfleet in order to pad that ever important resume, you did your service and got out. That hasn’t stopped you from recounting the battles on the Cardassian front, mind you! Furthermore, as the only Federation politician in this game, you have the following abilities, [You do not have a weapon]

- Once per game you may declare a lynch “Invalid” and nullify the vote, the otherwise lynched player will survive and be immune from a potential lynch the next day

- It wouldn’t look very good for the federation if you were a killing vote on another player though, so don’t do that. In fact, don’t be the last vote on any player!
[You do not have a weapon]

Ensign Macha Hernandez
You are Ensign Macha Hernandez. If there is shit to be shoveled or latrines to be cleaned, you’ll be there Ensign, we’re all counting on you. Why you were chosen to participate in this is anyone’s guess, but there is probably a Medal of Valor in it for you if you come out the other end. You have the following abilities,

- Did anyone tell you the trouble with Red Shirts? For whatever reason, the mortality rate for Red Shirts is unusually high. Since you need a good hiding place, you may target a player each night to hide behind, any abilities destined for you will instead affect them.

- You’re so fresh out of the Academy, you still have the notions of honor and truth in the forefront of your mind. If any player attempts to target your vote with a manipulation, it will fail. However, in addition, you will be told of who targeted you, though not what their manipulation would have been.
[You do not have a weapon]

Bajoran
You are a Bajoran crew member.

You must trust in the wisdom of the Prophets, that is clearly the only explanation for your presence here. Draw on what you learned in the Shakaar resistance cell and defend yourself. [You have a weapon]

- You may draw on the Wisdom of the prophets to divine the true nature of a player. You may not use this ability on consecutive nights.

- For each Cardassian that you have a role in killing, your powers will be upgraded.
[You have a weapon]

Section 31 Agent (cover ID, Lieutenant Commander Smith, Assigned to Starfleet Headquarters, as an attaché to Admiral Morris) (Faction Spy)
You are a Section 31 Agent

While the rest of your Starfleet comrades are worried about “right” and the Prime Directive, you’re out there doing the kinds of things that will never be in a history book and earn you medals you’ll never be allowed to wear.

You’re cover ability: You may swap two players for a night, abilities targeted at one will affect the other, and vice versa. This really is a simple matter of miscoding an itinerary, and as some as fluent in the computer systems as senior attaché, you know what you need to do.

You’re true ability, of course you’ll get your ability noted above, but you will also get the ability to place posting restrictions on another player (Day thread only.) You may do this once per game per player, and only once per day. The restrictions you may choose from are
a) Posts limited to 140 characters
b) Only 2 posts per day
c) Total Mute (however, you will be unable to use your ability the following day)

(Your cover ID is Lieutenant Commander Smith, Assigned to Starfleet Headquarters, as an attaché to Admiral Morris.)

You should not reveal your Section 31 Affiliation.

Klingon Roles

Team Ability: Will have more night kills (every other night.)

Wise, Aged, Klingon Veteran (who’s had too much to drink)
You are a Wise, Aged, Klingon Veteran (who’s had too much to drink)
It has been said that even while half drunk, Klingon warriors are among the best in the Galaxy. Lucky for you, whoever said that is right. You have the following abilities,

- You would die before you would lose your bat’leth, as a result, you are immune from all regular night kills (this includes the maul!)

- Unfortunately, all that blood wine has dulled your senses, you will be aware that you received visitor(s) in the night, you will not know who or what they did to you.

[You have a weapon]

FurinMirado's powerup
My wise, aged, friend, given this madness, you've sobered up. You gain the ability to magnify the impact of your vote by the number of votes against you. You may use this ability twice.

e.g. You have 3 votes against you, your vote now counts for +4 (3 + your actual vote)

Kor
You are, Kor, son of Rynar, the last son of the House of Kor. You are a Dahar Master and have reached the most legendary of status within the empire. Your triumphs know no bounds and each day you must publicly recount a battle. In any day in which you fail to do so, you will receive a penalty vote and be ineligible for your ability.

You will not go down without a fight, if you are lynched, you will take at least one other player with you.

Given your longstanding feuds with the Federation and Romulan Empires, your votes against Romulans count double and those against the Federation count as a tie-breaker. (Thank Dax for softening that enmity!)
[You have a weapon]

Klingon Novice
You are a Klingon Novice. You come for a small house with a proud tradition. Aside from a brief period generations ago, your house has never even officially spoken on the floor of the Great Hall, but this could be the opportunity to prove the worth of your family.

If anyone votes against you, you must vote on them for questioning your honor at some point the next day. If you fail to do this, you will receive a penalty vote.

If you survive past the fourth day, your training will have improved to the point where you’ll not be a novice anymore and will receive an upgraded ability.

You are the only Klingon who does not have a weapon.
[You do not have a weapon]

Grilka’s Former Bodyguard Thopok
You are Grilka’s Former Bodyguard Thopok.

You may have been embarrassed by that Ferengi, but you still live for honor. No matter Thopok, there still remain many honorable endeavors and many deeds need doing.

You may target any player and protect them that night from the evils that lurk in the night. This protection will block all powers targeted at them. In the event you’ve targeted a female character, this protection will also block their power usage attempts.
[You have a weapon]

Arne Darvin Faction Spy
You are, Arne Darvin, a Klingon, surgically altered to appear human. Nevermind whatever happened before; you can make it right this time.
- You will Seer as Federation Aligned in almost all circumstances
- Due to your human appearance, you easily pass through the Federation camps without notice and overhear things. (You will receive snippets of conversation from the Federation board)
- You will receive a powerup if you participate in the death of the Federation Captain.
You are aligned with Klingon Intelligence. Do not reveal this alignment to anyone, including fellow Klingons. Your Cover Identity is Korax. You are on a quest to find the final tribble in the galaxy. He is somewhere on this planet. You may investigate a player each night to determine if they have the forbidden thing. You will receive a powerup if you accomplish this.

The Darvin role is a fun one. CAD has a lot of information over the course of the game, but can't quite explain why.

They get an additional Night Kills because they have no Seer ability, and they're Klingons.

Romulan Roles

Team Ability:

Romulan Communications Officer
The Romulans have long had to protect themselves. If it wasn’t the Klingons, it was the Federation, if it wasn’t the Federation, it was Klingons, and then it was the Federation again. One thing that the Romulans have gotten very good it mastering communications, and you will let no one forget that!
Every other day you may target a player, on the following day, that Player’s faction forum will be locked.
[You do not have a weapon]

Romulan Senator
You’re a Senator from a small province on the Southern Continent, returning on the third day of the week when the Senate is not in session. If there is one thing every Senator needs to know how to do, it is to get his message to the people. And you are no novice at the craft.
Every day you may PM 3 players, copying me on all PMs of course.
Every day you may send a message to the whole board anonymously, PM the GM and I’ll post it.
[You do not have a weapon]

Tal’aura
You’re a Senator and while you may go on to disband the Senate, everyone has to start somewhere. You have a Thalaron Generator that you may use to kill another player. The tricky thing about Thalaron Radiation is that it can be very difficult to target and so you may randomly affect another player. This is a night time only ability.
[You have a weapon]

Vreenak
You will receive information randomly selected from other faction’s Seers. You will know whether or not the information they received is accurate or whether or not IT’S A FAAAAAKE!
[You do not have a weapon]

While written as "other faction's" Vreenak actually received data on all Seering action.

Tal Shiar Agent Faction Spy
The only reason you were even on that Warbird was to confirm the Commander’s loyalty. That mission does not stop now, but in the mean-time, you may want to at least interrogate some of these other players.
Each night you may “interrogate” another player. The player will be sedated the next day and removed from play. You will receive a dossier at the end of the following day with the results of your interrogation.
You should not reveal your Tal Shiar alignment to anyone, including other Romulans.
[You have a weapon]

DastardlyOldMan's powerup
Congratulations on being the randomly selected member of your faction to receive a powerup.

You may now increase another player's vote by 1. You may not increase the same player's vote on consecutive days. You may not increase your own.

The Comm Officer here is probably grossly overpowered.

It didn't occur to me that Augie may hide some of the seer details or otherwise obfuscate them creating that distrust on Romulus, but I like the unintended side effect.

Sociopaths/Unaligned

Morn's Role PM wrote:You are Morn, everyone's favorite Lurian. You are a master joke teller and one of the most talkative guys in the bar. Nevertheless, here, you have a post restriction, you may only post 3 times per day, and one of those posts must be a joke.

So long as you do not violate your posting restriction, you are immune from the Lynch.

Also, given your immense quantity of stored latinum, you will "buy off" any Seers with a favorable result.

You are Unaligned, but will win if you and one other faction remain.

Lore's Role PM wrote:You are Lore, an android and Data’s older brother. While you do not have a team, you do have more individual powers than most due to your complete set of programming instructions.

First, you receive a -1 vote on any day in which you receive lynch votes, this will not be shown in the vote total.

Second, you may watch any player at night and learn who targeted them with a night time ability, if two people targeted them, you will flee.

Finally, if you are visited at night, you have a 50% chance to kill the attacker.

[With Jev’s Death, you re-write your programming, you now have a 50% chance to kill you target if no one visits them.]

You are a Sociopath.

Jev's Role PM wrote:You are Jev, a Ullian and have certain telepathic powers. Much more than the average Betazed, you have the following ability.

- You may target a player each night and give them a hallucination involving another player visiting them. PM me the desired hallucinatory target.

- If you target the same player twice, they will (a) be removed form play for a day and (b) you will probe their history revealing details about their actions.

You are a Sociopath.

The Borg

The Borg Role PM wrote:So, I’m not going to say that you’re some sexy Jeri Ryan-esque Borg, because as far as this game is concerned, the Delta quadrant doesn’t exist, and the Borg are still badass. But I will say that they don’t realize that you’re a Borg… Thank Q for that. You know that the Collective is the true end for them all, why can’t their simple minds see that?

Every other night you may assimilate a target. The assimilation is a two step process, that works, roughly as follows,
Day X – You PM the GM your target
Night X – The target is infected with your nanoprobes (phrasing)
Day Y – The target undergoes the assimilation process and his votes and power usage will not count
Night Y – The target joins your faction

While their technological distinctiveness may be added to the collective, it isn’t added to you, so while the target may retain a portion of their assimilated power, do not expect them to retain all of it.

One other thing, you can only convert those that have voted for you in the day thread.

[You have a weapon]
