day 6 - will the phoenix fly?

Postby twdog » 13 Dec 2013, 21:01:51

Doesn't it feel good to stop the lies? I’m sure ryvvn certainly thought that. For days he’d been lying about being wounded, but it was absolutely true now. Now, doesn't that feel good?

ryvvn, wolf, lynched

---

Everyone had been standing around for hours, waiting for something to happen. Weren’t they suppose to meet necklessone here? Where the hell was he? The rounds dragged on and on and he didn’t show. Rictus keep getting angrier as time dragged on ... I’m going to kill him! .... he muttered .. I’m going to kill him! ... if he doesn’t get his ass here I swear to god I’m going to kill him!

which was a bit of an amusing coincidence, because someone killed him.

rictus, human, mauled

---

rictus role wrote:the observant watcher

As you move through the map at night, you will see people’s hidden actions and movements, but not the results of their actions.

It’s possible that you may gain a better version of this power in the future.

gm note: rictus had received an upgrade to full seer, allowing him to see details on a nightly target

ryvvn role wrote:You are a poisoner. Be ashamed of your ungentlemanly conduct, you cad.

Twice per game, you can poison a player causing their death in 2 Cycles. For example, you poison on night 2 and they die on night 4. The target will be privately informed of the poison, and there is a role that can counter the poison if they are told who the victim is. To poison someone, you must be in the same location as them for 4 continuous turns. Spending 4 continuous turns across locations is ok.

It’s possible that you may gain a better version of this power in the future.

You are part of the German Agent Team (wolf faction)

warning: the wolves will win if you lynch a human

Rictus was the seer who talked with me. He seered me as human and he seered Furin as a wolf and as a seer. He had gotten an upgrade on day 2, and got two visions on day 3 and 4. Sadly he didn't get his third that was due today. That is the reason of why we were together yesterday and as Zark observed he sort of followed me.

So given that they killed Rictus, then I have no worries about this vote. I was worried about Furin claiming a fake seer role and well being undecided between the two.

Retracted. Was Furinmirado

This makes sense since Furin was interested in the cloudship dock shortcut (to use his power I theorize) and he also was the one proposing a no maul / no lynch arrangement.

From the rest, there are a couple names that come to me.

In a conversation I had with ICB, he was trying to imply that Wasabi and DOM were in cahoots.
In a PM I have already shown around here Ryyvn told me to go after Ravebomb.

The conversation was amicable and casual with ICB where he didn't show a bad reaction to my power and believed me right away. Hence I got to think he thought he was fooling me.

So after Furin, MEM might be the other wolf. Which can make sense with his reaction to my initial vote on day 2 where just one vote made him complain and try to deflect to Wasabi. Also he is acting like in the Magick game where he revealed his power very early and people were trusting him. It wouldn't surprise me he is a wolf since in that game he also showed a disposition to backstab a fellow wolf early.

Also so you don't have to return to the end of last day, here is the vision he had of Furin:

Rictus wrote:Please don’t say anything in the day thread yet about any of this. Need to plan a little bit.

FurinMirado is a wolf (German agent). He’s also hanging out at the empty outpost.

Big problem: He’s a wolf seer.

“You are an investigator. No wonder you’re a social outcast, you meddling busybody.

Once per night, you can investigate a player, determining their role, faction, and status. The target can be anywhere on the map, but it will take 6 rounds to perform the investigation.

It’s possible that you may gain a better version of this power in the future.”

But well we'll have the weekend to talk about it.

Well, the dead are certainly after me, at least. "Venomous ICB" came after me while I was in the medical bay last night (for four full rounds). Of course, that means he had 8 rounds to go elsewhere and cause havok. Wondering if it's not a coincidence that he arose from Ryvvn's last location. When meta4 showed up and started chasing people in the stables, was our last lynch victim also in the stables?

Obvious vote for retracted-was-FurinMirado is obvious.

I'm going to wait to hear more from necklessone, but the other wolf should be MEM (rekard certainly seems awfully clear to me, given that ICB attempted to get him killed, and necklessone seems awfully nice unless the whole boat thing is a long and convoluted ploy to gather us together for his master explosion - but I understand if you all think I'm in suspicion as well). RaveBomb has downplayed his power without going specific, but we know and have confirmed that MEM has a reflection capability, which certainly doesn't sound like an engineer to me.

BWA HA HA HA HA! And you all fell for it. Now I just press this button and...

** sound of a boiler firing up and an ether screw spinning **

Oh right, I was actually working on the engine all night, not building a bomb. It was tough work too, with zombie ICB nibbling on me for 3/4 of the night.

With the engine working and the boat secured, a new vote option is unlocked today: Escape. If it wins the vote, all six of us work together to place the engine in the boat (which I've named the HMS Red Hellhole) and fly somewhere safe. Only the dead lose.

Since repairs are done, I think I can come clean about yesterday. As I hinted at during the end of day, what any of you did was irrelevant; I just needed the dead not to be able to somehow stop my actions. My big mistake was not requested an escort and confirming a fake set of moves, but that ended up not mattering. I am also, as far as I know, the only person left who started as an engineer. There is another player who I promoted to assistant engineer (adding supplemental powers to their original role) who was crucial in yesterday's repairs, though I do not know for certain they are not a wolf.

Whether or not to vote for escape comes down to two factors: how highly do you value a team victory over a tied victory and how confidant are you that we'll find that last wolf tomorrow? Both humans and wolves should consider my offer today; if we're going to take it, we should do so without any more bloodshed.

The wolves have no way of winning really with Furin being a wolf and all but humans don't have it clear either since well getting it wrong tomorrow might doom everyone.

So yeah. We should all Escape. Less stress that way.

I find it hilarious that we're trusting the guy with surveillance powers. He is a (CONFIRMED) Wolf that gleaned this from PMs going back and forth. Fortunately Rictus can prove his story wrong- oh wait, no he can't because he's conveniently dead! But, as DOM has proven, all it takes is one clever argument against me and then "oh noes, Furin is pulling the lone wolf survivor shtick again!" so I'm voting for Escape.

In case we do not choose Escape, I want to give us a chance to at least not lose today:

While he lied about my faction, he was correct about my role. No doubt Rictus did Seer me and found a fellow Seer. I am recently upgraded as well. Rictus must have imparted this information to someone in case of his demise. Heck, rekard has been doing such a good job of fooling us to this point that Rictus may have thought it was safe to leave him with this knowledge. Here is what I found:

Night 0: Seer'd Wasabi - got his role but decided to keep quiet about it since it mentioned the Worm Cult and outing Wasabi may have caused a victory condition for the Worm Cult

Night 1: Tried to Seer necklessone in response to him sending me a PM, it failed due to CAD's Role Swap :x He swapped my power with his

Night 2: Tried to use CAD's Role Swap power to get my power back, then Seer necklessone - this failed due to lynching CAD! :x

Night 3: Seer'd necklessone (finally!) and got his role of the Engineer, which when combined with (1) Day 4 was lynch or lose (2) necklessone announced a way for the Humans to pull out some kind of victory, I believed him to be Human as a Wolf wouldn't bother since they had yet to lose anyone

Night 4: Seer'd Mister E. Meat, verified his Reflector role, also found my upgrade at the Temple

Night 5: was able to quick-change my Seer target to rekard as I wasn't sure if he was under the influence of Wolves or actually a Wolf, confirmed that he is a WOFL

Nope. I knew you would be saying that. That's why I posted last night at EOD about the vision. You probably deduced he is a seer or seered him and now killed him.

Let's not overlook the fact that you, dferr and Rictus would make 3 seers total (dferr a role seer, but potentially more than that). Since dferr and Rictus are already dead and human, I seriously doubt we would have 3 seers on the human side.

Also, the signs are all there during day 4. Zark accurately identified it even, when he said Rictus was following me. Which worried me but seems the wolves did have not a suspicion of that kind at the moment. But yeah, we were talking together since Day 4. Rictus contacted me actually, and it was not me.

Like in this PM.

[+] Rictus contact as a seer
I am the seer.

I know that you are human, wounded, and in Cargo Bay A. You’re the amature wireless operator, and you’re upgraded. I know both your original and your upgraded powers.

"Once you spent some time learning about these new fangled wireless ethereal rays, but eventually dropped it as it was getting close to being a job. Work is for lesser people! On a day you choose, all PMs will be secretly forwarded to you. There is a one day cool down period.

It’s possible that you may gain a better version of this power in the future"

------------

I hope that establishes my credentials and what I can expect on my visions. Unfortunately I received my upgrade to seer on Night 2, so Night 3 was the first night I could seer. And now we’re 1 lynch away from losing. Sigh.

I’m currently hanging out at the abandoned work camp, by myself. I don’t want to move because I might get jumped by zombies. Last night I found a one-shot PM (at the work camp). But I have no PM powers after this. I’m planning on passing hints in the day thread.

A player’s name in the same sentence as a reference to a red will be a confirmed wolf.
A player’s name in the same sentence as a blue reference will be a confirmed human.
And I guess a reference to green will be something weird like undead.

From there you can PM the info on to the confirmed humans. I will mention you today with blue. EX:
“Rekard I agree with some of your analysis, but some of it seems to be blue-sky theories.”

Of course we will probably lose tonight anyways… but at least you know there are two of us now.

PM me back if you have any comments/suggestions on who to seer. Is it better for me to seer likely humans, or likely wolves?

I’m thinking RAVEBOMB for tonight.

Again, this is my one PM

I believed him since well he thought it was only a PM. A wolf would have known it was unlimited PMs between people.

And you would have been pretty fast to switch since, well, I posted that post yesterday about 10-15 seconds before EOD.

Either way Furin, I got evidence of communication between me and him. But it doesn't mattrr. Escape is good enough. Want more? I got more. I got a convo of ICB trying to pin blame on DOM and Wasabi, and Ryyvn pinnin on Ravebomb.

In the end Furin, you're a dirty little liar wolf.

See Rictus? I told you Furin would try to pull shenanigans like this.

As much as it pains me to actually side with the Germans - why did they bring down the ship in the first place? - I have to agree that the whole dead-walking-around-munching on us is a common threat that must be overcome. Escape for me, then. I'm still not confident where the final wolf lies - MEM, possibly, but maybe RaveBomb. The reflection power seems very wolf-like indeed, but we still have no hint of what RaveBomb's initial powers were. I haven't done further analysis on the other wolves here, that might make it more clear, but I think for now, let's get off this planet, shall we?

I was just thinkung about it. Who has the redirect voting powers?

By elimination it would be Ravebomb. But he would have to reveal.twdog, if Escape is unanimous, woukd the day end early?

If there is not going to be a discussion to get Furin lynched, then well for practical purposes, it might be a good idea.

I've got stuff I need to be doing today, but if I check in here and find a unanimous vote for "escape" I'll end early

Weekends tend to be quiet, so it's entirely possible some people won't even show up till Sunday. There's someone that hasn't picked up their results, for instance. So that's why I want a unanimous vote to end early, to account for the people that aren't around

While I'm tempted to see this out through the end now that we know that Furin is a wolf, I'd rather take the guaranteed escape today over risking not finding the last wolf. I'm guessing it might be Rave too but I don't know for sure. Also ICB attacked me so I'm going to die without medical attention, so there's that too
