Day 2 - To Catch a Wolf

Postby dferrantino » 24 Mar 2014, 20:05:25

The butler passed around a large hat and collected a slip of paper from everyone, with your vote for who to expel from the house. He walked back to the stage and handed the hat to the presumed owner, who was still chuckling about the threats and chatter over the course of the day, and especially the two gunshots that everyone thought they heard but couldn't quite place where they came from or if they were even real at all.

"Alright everyone, let's see who you picked."

Vote Totals:
Nitestorm - 4 - FurinMirado, Okaros, BlindSniper83, Ryvvn
Blindsniper83 - 4 - Mister E. Meat, 7-zark-7, DastardlyOldMan, sphenodont
FurinMirado - 3 - stigmata, Nitestorm, Aldax
DastardlyOldMan - 2 - rekard, necklessone
Ryvvn - 2 - Admetus, Rictus
stigmata - 1 - Meta4
sphenodont - 1 - Hellheart
rekard - 1 - That PJ
Hellheart - 1 - Visigoth

"Ah, a tie! I do love a coin flip."

His butler pulls out a large gold coin from his front pocket.

"Now, just so all of you can see, there are clearly two sides to this coin. And with a flip"

Flip

"Tails. Well, they say a blind sniper isn't one at all eh?"

Suddenly, the lights dim. A projector in the ceiling shows a video of Blindsniper83, under a full moon, the runt in the pack.

"Well, there you have it folks. First day, first wolf. Keep this up and you're on the fast track!"

Blindsniper gets up to run, but doesn't make it far. About halfway down the aisle he stops suddenly, drops to his knees, and vanishes into thin air.

Blindsniper83 - Lynched - Epsilon

In honor of the release of the Diablo 3 expansion, I nominate Ryvvn because he was the last of the flippy floppies. And no, that's not supposed to make any sense.

Wake up Perry the Platypus, it's time for me to earn my Nobel prize. Norm is recording all of this from the other side of the box, so no funny business. We want to get this in one take so you can foil my evil plan before lunch.

So first I open the combination lock. Let's see here...0, 0, 0, and 0...I can hear you laughing, Norm. Cut it out, this is a serious experiment.

Now I just use the key to open the normal lock, the key...which is...somewhere around here. I could've sworn I put it in my coat pocket last night. Ah well, luckily for you, I finished modifying my Unlock-inator just the other day. So I'll just go get that...Norm, stay here and keep recording.

...

BEHOLD, the Unlock-inator!

...

Alright Perry the Platypus, you need to move to the side of the box so I don't cut you in half with my Unlock-inator. I just push it against the keyhole like so and press this button like so and...oh wow it worked! I mean, of course it worked - there was absolutely no chance that it would vaporize the entire room again.

Now for the moment of truth, I'll just open up the box and release...well that's odd, how did an ordinary platypus get into my trap? There you go, run along to your owner now...Hey, where's Perry the Platypus? He left his hat in the box, but I don't see him anywhere. I was watching that box the entire time, how did he escape? There must be a secret compartment in this table somewhere...

One wolf down, 4 to go. As a human, I am thrilled. As a wolf, I am nervous but still calm--the weakest of the pack sometimes don't make it.

For today's vote, I'm thinking Aldax for turning a modest array of votes on Furin into a threatening situation. But after this I think my obligations to protect/avenge Furin are satisfied and we can go back to lynching him. You know, if he gives us a reason. Or might. Or someone suggests that he might. The usual. :)

Hellheart, I can't stop reading that in Dr. Doofenshmirtz's voice. It's freakin' me out man.

So in the interest of JKL, let's remove all the people that got more than one vote, rand again and ... necklessone would you take a seat over here.

Hadn't (it's hard enough to get all of the other PMs copied to the dead board. 5 pages so far even with the Night actions filtered out), but it was hilarious.

Cain was the first human born and Abel was the first human to die. What few know is that they actually shared a birthday, & are likewise considered to be the first "Irish Twins". Adam invented the rhythm method soon afterwards.

Despite an amazingly small gene pool, those two crazy kids populated the earth till it was busting at the seams, which gives you some idea of the utility of this method, but you're changing the subject.

I am speaking of Adam & Eve, not Cain & Abel, although there's some back-story about rebuffed advances (did I mention the small gene pool) that was in play.

Long story short, Dom's suggestion ~would~ solve the shared birthday problem, Necklessone.

I think today I'll pick Meta4. I'm guessing a Meta4 lynch might do some people a favor, and deactivate some potential Alphas.

-edit-
Here's what I have for votes so far:

Aldax -2- That PJ, FurinMirado
necklessone -2- Mister E. Meat, 7-zark-7
Ryvvn - Meta4
Meta4 - Admetus

So let me get this straight. You voted to break a tie and now here's you from a future where you're probably a serial killer or something.

Oh great, now he's going to shoot me because I insulted him. Well, pardon me for knowing what happens when you meet an alternate version of yourself. At least this one's easy to deal with: Aldax.

Busy day. You'd be amazed how much the sub prime mortgage collapse has increased my workload. Give it another 20-40 years and we'll have a lot more bankers down below to help out - that bismuth won't move itself (they'll never believe what we use it for either)...

It strikes me as odd to be considered evil. Even Doofenshmirtz has pointed out that while he's okay with generally evil, it's cults and platypuses (one in particular, something about a hat) that really grind his gears.

I prefer the terms "Critical Thinking", or "Enlightened Self Interest", or "No, Don't Stop", which is just different enough from "No! Don't! Stop!" to make all the difference. I'd advise that what I saw today is a terrifying thing for an anthropomorphic personification of my ilk:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yS2IBMQIjDo

Next thing you know I'll enjoy watching reality television, I shudder to ever suggest they have higher production values, but I believe we've found our test case. Bubbles? No. I was okay with the Twinkie though.

So.... I've been thinking alot about the quantum states this morning (come on, Virginia, make up your mind. you can't be both "West" and "Not West" - look to the Dakotas or the Carolinas, or hell, even the Koreas. They may not have much, but they've got their directions and demilitarized zones at least hashed out). Anyway, I'm changing the subject: I found it interesting that the Big man has a butler. I found it more interesting who it was. Michael, you're looking well - getting enough fiber? Good, good.

Listen, I've read the propaganda, I know what you think you're going to do in the endgame. I know that whole 80's thing with the helicopter was more of a diversion than anything else.

But passing the hat at this impromptu affair? It's beneath you. Listen, it's better to reign in your own domain than serve as such.

It's only 10 years old (hence the spoiler tag), but let's face it... you'll be sweeping the floor next. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
