Nothing to report on the infiltration front. They're still upsetting the peace, but not as much today.

It is a conversion night, though. Which one of them will best control the others?

It's a recruit day!

Provisional order for Convert FurinMirado > sphenodont.

Those votes are so batshit crazy. I don't recall them being like that at all, but there was so much movement at the end. Of course now we have to fear that Meta4 was rewarded with something like a seer vision.

I'll keep you guys posted, but here are my first 2 posts of the day in my forum:

Iron Clad Burrito wrote:Welcome, Hellheart!

I was going to be totally mad at Ravebomb because I think he might have tried to betray me, but then I realized that I put you in here with us, and you voted for me as well, so I guess I have to at least try to let bygones be bygones.

Though Rave, I really would like an explanation for what happened. You almost killed me for what? Control of this forum? Dude, your power is much sweeter than that.

Iron Clad Burrito wrote:Rave, why did I add hellheart over the twins? I think the chances that Hellheart was the first flip are pretty low, and here we have a private sounding board for Hellheart to help us find the network.

Oh, and I gave the Twins due consideration, but (a) I don't trust that one hasn't been flipped, and (b) if one did flip, choosing either is a bad idea because the network would then have access to us.

I didn't think it wise. But I stopped talking after your vote for me, and you see I didn't even start talking again until 10 minutes prior to EOD, and I was irritated, so I didn't tell you what I did.

Admetus, if you used your power, thank you. :) Hopefully the cooldown doesn't prove too harsh.

Ravebomb will die, if I have a chance to make it happen.

You are one part of the "marmalade sandwich" and you are nothing without your fellow members: REDACTED and REDACTED. When you vote on the same target as REDACTED, REDACTED. When you vote on the same target as REDACTED, REDACTED.

Assuming he's the marmalade, I have a pretty good guess for rekard's two buns.

On Day 2, rekard, blindsniper, and I were the only three voters on Hellheart, yet he wound up with 4 votes.

So blindsniper is almost certainly Bun #1, and he and rekard had a +1 bonus on Day 2. But why didn't he vote for Meta4 yesterday? Perhaps because they have a -1 penalty on odd days?

If Bun #2 has the inverse sign dependence of Bun#1 (+1 on odd days, -1 on even days), then that would suggest he voted with rekard yesterday for Meta4.

But three of the six other Meta4 voters also voted for rekard. And I was another Meta4 voter.

So that leaves two candidates for Bun #2:

(a) Furin, who changed his vote VERY late to help rekard, and
(b) dferrantino, who also voted for Smirker with rekard.

Incidentally, if you guys agree with my analysis, then I suggest we hold off on converting Furin.

Because ideally we want to target a player who might be a Vig, a role Seer, or the GA.

Thoughts?

I think we should convert one of the Day 3 rekard voters, since they're least likely to be part of the rekard trio.

rekard : 7 : Hellheart, That PJ, Rictus, sphenodont, Okaros, Iron Clad Burrito, Smirker

I still don't want to convert Okaros and That PJ, so that leaves four candidates:

Hellheart, Rictus, sphenodont, Smirker

I think we can save Hellheart for later-- let's see what ICB learns from him first.

I don't want to convert Smirker right now, because I think I can make a good lynch vote case against him if need be (based on his oddly voting for rekard but not Meta4).

So that leaves Rictus and sphenodont. I have a slight preference for Rictus, but I'm fine with either.

I think while your reasoning is sound, I will note that furin's analysis is more dangerous to us than anything, and I can support conversion no matter what his power.

What do you bring to the party, besides analysis skill? Looking for all kinds of tools to fight the network.

I can change the day's voting in various ways. Double-lynch, lynch and reward (separate votes for each), and a "coinflip" where the majority choice is safe on the following day.

The first two are much stronger in later days because there will probably be more networked players, so the larger voting record makes a difference. And the double-lynch is much more valuable when we have a decent chance of actually hitting a Networker.

So that leaves two candidates for Bun #2:

(a) Furin, who changed his vote VERY late to help rekard, and
(b) dferrantino, who also voted for Smirker with rekard.

The event rules for Day 3 say that in order to have an associated vote manipulation, both votes need to be paired, not just one. That means dferrantino would make a pair with rekard, but FurinMirado would not. FurinMirado might have given his single vote only, but if you're speculating that Blindsniper couldn't vote with rekard because it'd be opposite on that day, then FurinMirado would have needed to pair rekard's other vote for that to count in his favor.

I'm going to guess that dferrantino is the other bun, not FurinMirado.

GM, do I get a conversion vote? Or do you have to be an original G to convert?

Also, if our conversion fails tonight, will we get another chance on Night 5? Or do we permanently lose the opportunity?

All Network get conversion votes. There's no difference between new and old Network.

If your conversion fails, it fails and you move forward short a member. There are very, very few things out that that would lead to your conversion failing.

Thanks.

Does the GA block conversion? The rules state the that the GA's

target will be immune to all negative actions from other players

but obviously from our perspective joining the Network is a gloriously positive event

:P

The GA blocks the following: mauls, conversion, any other night time kills, any night time power that would assign any kind of penalty. His cooldown was increased so he can't protect the same player on consecutive conversion attempts.

Thanks for the clarification here and in the Rules thread.

So there is a bit of added risk in targeting a high-profile player like Furin-- if I were the GA, I would protect myself on Night 2 and Furin on Night 4. I suspect a few other players would do likewise (after me, I think Furin might be the most likely player to be protected). Hopefully the GA protected himself on Night 1 and will do so again tonight.

But if Furin is protected, at least the GA won't know, and we'll have a clear shot at him on Night 6.

So I guess I'm willing to take the added risk and convert Furin if you guys are.

I think I will probably vote for ICB if he's not in much danger. I've noticed my voting record hasn't had any misdirection at all, which is bad if I get caught.

If ICB looks competitive as a wagon, I might vote Smirker instead, in retaliation.

Though since the twins aren't in danger today, it seems like their twinspeak is a clear statement that they don't intend to vote together. So I probably won't get saved that way.

The problem is I don't think i can vote CAD, even with a "hey, he pissed me off" reason, because you're already there.

We'll see what reaction is to my post in the last hour. I'll vote late again unless the heat dissipates quickly.

It would be risky, but you could try putting a vote on Okaros.

Smirker, blindsniper, and Simon might all follow.

And Okaros would then likely vote for CAD.

Alternatively, we could say 'eff it' about disguising votes, and just convert more people to cover for the loss in the next day or two.

So, if the twins buck and attack ICB or myself for the snipe kill, should we change our conversion target to them tonight? The humans may not expect we could snipe-switch to the twins if they act late enough, and we could get some good value out of a couple days of twin popularity after a Network kill.

I do NOT want to convert the twins, under any circumstances.

ICB is clear since he just has one vote.

If they switch to you, then you switch to Okaros.

EDIT: But I don't see why they would pick you over other 2-vote bandwagons.

Agreed. They are a liability to us, and it won't be made easier by making them one of us. the effective way to deal with them is to kill them.

Okay, cool. Just a thought.

I'm still hoping they gather a vig shot for us. It would be optimal if we force them to kill CAD, then the vigilante has "had enough."

I think that all worked out pretty well.

Twin controversy should overshadow CAD's last words.

And now Zark voting after the deadline will make him look suspicious! Great!

Along with Smirker and to a lesser extent Hellheart-- hard to seem credible after you complain about Twin power and then don't do anything about it.

Smirker did. [e]Didn't he?

Hellheart's suggesting Zark as a candidate for my network tomorrow.

No, he didn't change his vote.

Don't make any promises-- let's see what happens at start of day.

Also, you may want to refrain from calling it your "network"-- kind of a tell, there
