Day 2 : Slow Bureaucracy

Postby rekard » 20 May 2014, 18:16:38

Well well well.

You have chosen to kick out the horseman. Papers will be processed and he will be out by this night.

Ravebomb - Lynch - Human

Wait a minute. Admetus! I have papers here reassigning you to the Embassy of Americana. These came out of nowhere. Hmmm. Oh, is that a gun permit? Yeah, you can carry your weapon with you. Levae by EOD. We'll see if the Council will let you back.

Admetus - Maul - Human Vigilante

Hmm. I can't unmake these papers, but maybe these so called millionaires are just a ruse. Vote now! Who else goes?

Vote Tally :

Ravebomb -4- Meta4, twdog, Zark, Blindsniper83
Blindsniper83 -3- Mister E. Meat, simple_simon, Rictus
Stigmata -2 - Hellheart, Admetus
Hellheart -1-Stigmata
Meta4 -1-Ravebomb
Furinmirado -1- That PJ

Mister E. Meat -1- Furinmirado
That PJ -1- Ryvvn
Admetus -1- Aldax
Ryvvn -1- dferrantino
Aldax-1- Antipater

Missed vote :
Sphenodont
MaxFrost

They will begin with a penalty vote.

Day will end Wednesday at 9 PM ET.

Admetus and Ravebomb are still alive. They can post, PM and vote. They will be temporarily exiledvat end of day.

They are uneligible for lynch or maul.

I believe a two way tie is properly referred to as a bolo tie. Charles Nelson Reilly, on the other hand, generally wore a cravat and occasionally an Ascot. The Ascot was popularized by the Royal Ascot race, which as you can imagine prominently featured horses.

In fact, this may have been why meta4 voted to get rid of Horsio, an aversion to Ascots and a preference for bolos.

Pay attention, Brendan.

I mean, he's got Mister in his name. And Meat. Doesn't get any manlier than that. Well, I guess it could, like if his name was Rock McLargehuge, or something. But Mister Meat is good, real good.

So if Mister Meat is good, then Meta4 is bad.

I think this is the current tally:

Meta4 - 3 - MaxFrost, Mister E. Meat, Rictus
dferrantino - 2 - Ryvvn, Simple_Simon
stigmata - 2 - That PJ, RaveBomb
blindsniper83 - dferrantino
Mister E. Meat - Okaros

I'm wondering where Hellheart is. Yesterday he sent me a pretty good RP PM and I tried to respond in kind, today radio silence.

Again I don't have really any data to work off of. That said, I think to keep it interesting I'm going to tie it up with a vote for dferrantino

Might be back to amend that though. All my 'gut' feelings have been incorrect, and this one has absolutely no concrete support.

It's cool. I've just been super-sensitive today while I decide who to shoot, or if I shoot. "Trying to keep quiet to avoid saying something that could get me shot" is a wolf move, IMO. Humans don't need to worry, I'm really good at being vigilante. ;)

Listen guys, Tina is really upset about Horsio leaving. Now I'm pretty sure we can't keep him from leaving but we can go after one of the people that voted him out.

In honor of Horsio, today's burger is the "Chard to Say Goodbye Burger", which is served with sauteed chard.

(( Pre-post retraction because I'm not about to redo this post AGAIN to fit another vote, and I have no intention of breaking this tie. ))

------

I'm Shawn Spencer, and this is my partner, "Hanging Ten" Chad Guster. He's a 3-time surfing champion in Mali.

Gus glares at Shawn

We're here investigating reports of potential voting fraud.

I can sense that that last vote was meant for an animal, an animal that arguably deserved a vacation more than any other...but it fell on another animal, an animal that was far less deserving. An animal that was framed.

You can't frame someone by sending them on vacation, Shawn.

Of course you can. You just need to wait until the pictures are printed out.

In any case, I sense that last vote was intended for RETRACTED was Stigmata, who would have clearly been chosen out of the three as the animal who most deserved a vacation.

Mali is a landlocked country, Shawn. You're lucky that nobody here knows African geography.

You're overreacting, Gus. If anyone had objected, I'd just say that you did your actual surfing in Chad.

Chad is another landlocked African country! You're unbelievable, Shawn.

Don't worry, Hellheart. I originally even typed out "I'm not going to shoot you over this," but then I figured -- why make it public what I'm willing to do?

Let me be even more clear. In my two appearances as Admetus-Vigilante, I've shot an infiltrator in Archer and a wolf in Quantum. I have a reputation for Vigilante Excellence.

Oh wait, I'm counting the Quantum game but not the Temporal one? Don't worry, nobody will fact check it!

Agh! what did I tell you? "Million Air!" repeat after me: "Mill-ion-air" (this name gets wonkier as I think about it) "Mill-ion-air!" not humans! ah well, what's done is done. Poor Horsea-o (You are a pókemon, right?), we barely knew ye. You looked like a good guy (horse? pókemon?) and those pesky Million-Air denizens (what do you call its residents? "Millionites? Milliotians?) now got rid of our Vigilante!

But I think I got our suspect right here: Blindsniper Redacted, need some time to think would you like to tell me why do you have a sniper certification (that is IF you have a certificaction) considering you're completely blind?

I was going to say "This is starting to get a little silly!" but then twdog fixed it. I'm going to put my vote on dferrantino for now.

stigmata - 4 - That PJ, RaveBomb, 7-zark-7, twdog
dferrantino - 4 - Ryvvn, Simple_Simon, Antipater, Admetus
Meta4 - 4 - MaxFrost, Mister E. Meat, Rictus, Hellheart
blindsniper83 - 3 - dferrantino, Aldax, Meta4
Mister E. Meat - Okaros
twdog - FurinMirado

The "obvious reason" would be being the deciding vote on RaveBomb, who was revealed as a human under that horse mask. But again, he was voting in defense, much like Meta4's voting now.

Something about the Meta4 wagon is very curious, and I'm not really seeing the justification.

Let's put another vote on Blindsniper83 retracted to even things up a bit.

So uh...is there a reason I've got all those votes or is it just the "Hey it's Day 2 let's lynch dfer" party?

Something about the Meta4 wagon is very curious, and I'm not really seeing the justification.

The Meta4 wagon? How 'bout that Blindsniper avalanche?

At 14:15 FurinMIrado made it:

Meta4 - 3 - MaxFrost, Mister E. Meat, Rictus
dferrantino - 3 - Ryvvn, Simple_Simon, Antipater
stigmata - 3 - That PJ, RaveBomb, 7-zark-7
blindsniper83 - dferrantino
Mister E. Meat - Okaros
twdog - FurinMirado

Then all of a sudden:
Hellheart votes for Blindsniper 14:26
twdog votes for Blindsniper 14:32
Aldax votes for Blindsniper 14:59
Meta4 votes for Blindsniper 15:00

4 votes in 30 minutes? Looks like some wires got crossed in the wolf forum.
Charming, to the last.

It's tricky for me to participate too much while at the office, so it's easy for me to miss quick swings like that. I'd noted the Meta4 vote earlier in the day, and then started posted in response to Meta4's "what's the obvious reason", and merged the two.

That said, all of the bandwagons are fishy.

I don't like the sniper wagon. Sure, it's common to vote for the guy that sealed the deal on killing a horsio (even if that guy is sticking around like a horsefly after "death"), but it was a defensive vote, which mitigates it. ("But hey, you're voting for him!" Yeah, because I want to bring it to a tie, at least for now and don't see any other viable candidates.)

So! I'm a human vigilante on my way out. It's Day 2, there's no information. I was kind of wondering who would have what advice for me. Anyone going to tell me I better not shoot, it'll just hurt my team? Guess not!

If I was going to pick one of my own wolf reads, it'd be Ryvvn. (That's just a Vote.) He's been confrontational and aggressive in the Day thread and in the one message I got from him. That's often a style he falls back on as a wolf. I usually hold off a bit on Ryvvn, though, because he often triggers my wolf-alert early. The sacred do-not-kill thing is less important to me. I like to follow that when all things are equal, but I'd definitely kill a died-first-last-game if it was important to my team. I've got other people pricking at my wolf-radar, but Ryvvn tops that list.

The wiser play is to store the shot, and take my vacation. If a pressing need for a vigilante comes up, y'all could revive me. I wouldn't even bother reviving me on the Day 3 revival check in that case, it's probably too early.

But there is, in fact, a surprise twist. RaveBomb tells me he's been contacted by a wolf-traitor, who wants to remain secret but gave a name of a fellow wolf. In this game, that's quite possible -- there are psychopaths, a wolf-psychopath is a thing that could be out there. RaveBomb is covering for the identity of the wolf-traitor for now. This is worrying, but we've got Rave's role card, he's a human. He assures me that if the shot kills a human, he'll reveal his source for lynching.

I kind of expect that RaveBomb would have preferred I not mention the circumstances at all, and let the wolf-traitor operate from the shadows. But I'm an untrusting human, and if I can't hold that ace card in my own pocket, I'm going to make sure someone else shares the blame.

Someone wants you dead, dferrantino. He says he'll stake his life on you flipping wolf.

Vig shot on dferrantino.

What the hell Admetus?

You didn't have to use the gun that makes him cough up his lungs and heart. I don't feel good. I'm gonna puke.

Dferrantino's wallet had a membership card. " Millionaire Club". Huh. That's clear enough. Why don't we check wallets again?

Dferrantino - Wolf - Vigged

He is well like super dead.

OH GOD MY EARS. Why was I standing next to the guy with the gun?

You were trying to keep him from shooting us, remember?

I'm sure that what you're saying is completely relevant, Gus, but all I can hear is a constant dull ringing.

What the hell is going on here? This sounds like the Case of the Wolf-Human Lovers all over again. Did I miss some sort of memo?

Wait a minute, you mean that for once in your life everyone else knows more about what's happening behind the scenes than you do? Oh man, I am going to enjoy this.

Looks like the wolf-traitor will live to strike again. Your vote analysis will now be even more of a mess, as the teaminess of the wolf team may break down a bit. Good thing I'm going on vacation, so I don't have to deal with it!

stigmata - 4 - That PJ, RaveBomb, 7-zark-7, twdog
Meta4 - 4 - MaxFrost, Mister E. Meat, Rictus, Hellheart
blindsniper83 - 3 - dferrantino, Aldax, Meta4, sphenodont
dferrantino - 3 - Ryvvn, Simple_Simon, Antipater
Mister E. Meat - Okaros
twdog - FurinMirado
ryvvn - Admetus

Damn, Admetus. Nice shot again.

Before you and Rave go on your vacation, perhaps Horsio would like to share the identity of the wolf traitor/informant? Or, if not that, then the reason he's protecting a wolf and the wolf is ratting out his buddies? I assume some special win conditions are in play and we won't hear boo about the reason for this information reaching our ears, but one can hope.
PJ's general resignation towards fate is good enough. -Okaros
Then he went and shot himself, saved me and got himself lynched because of it. You magnificent fool! -Mister E. Meat

I'm going to guess that isn't going to happen. The wolves won't be rid of their traitor so easily.

PJ, nothing personal, but you're #2 on my list of people that sound like a wolf to me.

Wait, wait, you're going to Americana right? Take us with you!

Or at least tell us which way you're going to go. You know, so we can say goodbye when you leave.

There's a lot of things that might get you recalled from your post, like really quickly. We're far better suited for that sort of thing. Well, Gus isn't anymore, but his pants were really shitty anyway.

Very funny, Shawn. Next time, I'll dodge the feces so it hits you instead.
