Our strategy is very restricted because of the following points:
- We cannot steal the members of other cults
- Our members can be stolen by other cults.
- As far as we know, we will lose a member every time we target a cult leader.
So our roster will cap out fast and can never be replenished, but every night we risk losing one or more members to either a conversion or sacrificial mauling. Oh, and the larger our cult becomes the more likely it becomes that one of our members gets converted away. Given the nature of our conversions, that could outright doom our cult. If we drop to 2 or fewer players it could be worth trying to convert a low-value player again to see if we get lucky, though.
The ideal situation is to hit every conversion for the first 3 nights on players that other cults will see as having poor or no value and then STOP converting players and start killing cult members. Obviously we want to add players that can still contribute, but we cannot afford to have members that other cults are going to target. Ideally we'd have a situation where the other cults are simply stealing members from each other while our members fly under the radar. We can let them kill each other using votes and mauls, while we sit around quietly and make safe votes. Let the night kills take care of the problem players.
At some point we'll want to start taking out high-value players that are obviously going to be converted - this is where we have real power, because we can snipe the strongest team players using their normal account names. We also need to take out cult leaders ASAP if we sniff one out, since we can only really do that if we have more than one member. Some cults should outright disappear when we take out the leader, regardless of how many members they have.
Unless we get super lucky and grab a Seer, the only way I can think of to identify cult leaders is to go off of who they've converted. Most players have people they'd prefer to work with or people they'd avoid. That's a really difficult thing to sniff out...but if one cult has a couple members that seem like really odd picks, there's a decent chance the leader is Antipater or Snake. Keep an eye out for that one.
...Oh, and if we lose a member, it will be absolutely crucial to figure out the likely leader of that cult and snipe him the following night. Otherwise they can just convert all of our members away one by one. Our only defense against that is to cut off the cult's head ASAP.
