Game Over - Two out of Twenty-Four ain't bad
The third Host entered the auditorium. He strode to the stage. By now there were a significant amount of bodies piling up inside, as nobody had made any effort to remove them. He was escorted by a large troop of interns all holding microphones and cameras. Pictures were taken, backdrops were set up. And through it all, the two pairs ignored them. They focused only on each other. They'd been standing like this all day since Mister E. Meat had left them all. Wasabi and Dferrantino stood tensed and waiting beside each other opposite Ryvvn and Stigmata who seemed equally ready to pounce if even an ounce of weakness was detected.
The stage-hands began to let two ropes down from the rafters. Soon two nooses were hanging at eye-level. But who would fill them?
"Welcome ladies and gentlemen, viewers and forced participants, to the final evening of the hit-show...
Are You In Love With A Wolf That Wants To Rip Your Guts Out?
Today we will answer that question. With a resounding Yes. But will they be lynched? Prepare to find out.
Now I know tensions are high right now at home, with many sad that they're not going to be able to follow such a spectacle again after tonight. But as sure as I live right now, I promise that I'll be bringing this show right back to you for another season next year. We've already lined up our next village of chumps.
I think the contestants would like to take a minute to thank the fans at home for tuning in religiously and supporting the show. They sure as hell couldn't have got all this way without the ratings all you viewers provided. We'd have killed them all long ago without your support. So we wanted to say that we love you, the fans. Isn't that right Dferrantino?"
Wasabi turns slowly and takes the microphone from the Host. Without pausing it is snapped over his leg and one half is thrust back into the Host's still outstretched hand and straight through it. "I've had enough of you not taking our love seriously. I'm going to make sure it's the last thing you ever do."
Three things happen at once. Stigmata and Ryvvn launch into action, Dferrantino roars and transforms into a Werewolf, and Wasabi picks the spluttering host up and in a move reminding everyone of a recently deceased wrestler, slams him into the ground head-first.
Ryvvn feints to the left, drawing a terrifying Dferrantino after him whilst Stigmata quickly grabs onto one of the hanging nooses and swings at the momentarily distracted Wolf. He lands on his back and the loop is passed over Dferrantino's head. But his windpipe being slowly constricted does nothing to stop Dferrantino from clawing Stigmata off and swiping him with a crash to the floor. But in doing so his footing is sacrificed, and Dferrantino falls off the stage, the rope snapping taught and brutally crushing his neck further. Yet a wolf's neck is tougher than that of a Human counterpart, and he continues to hold onto life.
Ryvvn surveys the situation. Punching and then grabbing a camera from an intern that had got too close, he places himself centre-stage, between his downed Lover and the choking Werewolf. But an unknown hand finds his neck and he is forced to the ground. Wasabi stands behind him, one half of a microphone stand in his hand and resting dangerously against Ryvvn's exposed neck.
"I've got him my beautiful Wolf. I'll be right with you to free you from that infernal thing in a minute. But first, what shall I do with him? Should I impale him or would that be too quick? I want to send Stigmata a message that no-one attacks my lover. Not even if you're a Wolf. They're just being mean to you right? You aren't responsible for anyone's deaths. You're just misunderstood."
Dferrantino's face is turning blue but he nods furiously and continues to try to swipe at the extremely claw-resistant noose. Wasabi takes no notice of his pain. Surprisingly, the fact that his lover is a Werewolf seems, to Wasabi, to be all the more reason to love him.
"I always knew we were special my little Dfairytino. Now we're going to end this show. We're going to be famous."
The cameramen step even closer, preparing to eagerly take snaps of the final moments of the show. But Ryvvn seizes the moment. With shut eyes he raises the camera still in his hands, and takes a point-blank snap of his captor's face. Wasabi is momentarily blinded and Ryvvn wriggles free, spinning, and punches the Wolf's lover in the face. Wasabi goes down unconscious.
Stigmata opens his eyes and shakes his head to clear it of the pain. He looks up and around to find Wasabi and Dferrantino hanging side-by-side from the long ropes, both struggling to breath, but with their hands not reached to their necks, but instead clasping each other's tightly. Ryvvn stands on the stage above them. Both the dying Wolf and the dying Human struggle to each other into an embrace. But their strength has left them. In a moment their hands fall away from each other and rest limply at their side's.
Stigmata climbs onto the stage and embraces Ryvvn. A sea of interns and stage-hands surge forward intent on interviewing both. In a rush they are carried to victory together out of that bloody and nightmarish room which had acted as their tomb for the past nine days. The Final Host is dead, and the programme and order seems to have died with him, but nobody cares. For the wolves have all died too.
Humans win.
Dferrantino has been lynched. He was a Lover. He was the final wolf.
Wasabi has died of a broken heart. He was a Lover. Though his taste in true love was questionable, he remained a Human.
Ryvvn has survived. He was a Lover.
Stigmata has survived. He was a Lover.
Through it all, they were both Human aligned.
This game has ended. The Wolves are extinct. Thanks for playing everyone, I hope you had fun playing, I certainly enjoyed running such a zany setup.

My thoughts shall come tomorrow, it is once again too late for me to stay around. I enjoyed the RP as well guys and some of the plotting and scheming was excellent. Remind me never to trust any of you.

I'm wondering about this. Sole survivors being Ryvvn, Stigmata, and a reality tv crew. They're going to need more chlorine in the gene pool.
Good game everyone,

That was a fun, enjoyable game (if rather brief for me, thanks Hellheart :p ). The writeups for each day were great CAD, and the plentiful and varied backstabbing made it a lot of fun to watch from the grave, even without the PMs on-hand.
Speaking of which, I'm steadily dumping CAD's PMs into the dead forum's PM thread if anybody wants to look and see what went down.

I kind of assume Okaros is out to backstab me until proven otherwise. - DOM

Griffypoo is still the MVP for the funniest RP yet (in addition to being spot-on), and I wanted to revisit his most amusing posts so here they are, spoilered for your convenience.

You looked wolfy as all hell because you were too quiet. If you hadn't been sheeping Ryvvn so often that it's nearly impossible for you to be a wolf, you're almost always getting the votes instead of him. In the end the "laziest" strategy ended up being the winning one for you.
Still, I honestly thought the two of you were going to convince Wasabi there. Ryvvn made a fantastic post that simultaneously took both you and Wasabi off of the table for voting. After that post, both of you looked so human I felt kind of embarrassed for Dferrantino. I suspect Wasabi may have opted not to change his vote simply because he wins either way.

After this game, that is now true for both human-rekard and wolf-rekard. You'd be selling yourself short by keeping the original version.

Yeah, after that post I spent 3 hours trying to figure out how I could convince not only stigmata, but Wasabi to vote on Ryvvn. Thankfully halfway into writing it I saw Wasabi wasn't convinced, so I had to go for the crapshoot.

Good game, all. Thanks to CAD for running it. It was fun, frenetic, and often frustrating. But mostly fun.
MEM, I just wish that day hadn't falled on a Friday so we could have worked together more closely. Maybe the good guys could have pulled out a win.

I think you just wanted to kill me off as revenge for making it impossible for us to survive until the endgame

There, changed.
I would note that the game from where the quote originated, we did win.

You were human and went for a lovers win.
Rave though, opted for betrayal, lies and poor constructed deceit that led to two dead wolves. Imagine how this would have looked if MEM a human pair instead of Ravebomb. Or even better if we had had our vengeful kill triggered. Four human deaths there minimum. But nooo. Also the betrayal forced and revealed voting trends difficult to dispel by the wolves. We could had won that if we had worked as a team.
Sphen actually got the best way to get rid of Rave by contacting MEM. That way there would be no alignment reveal or chance for a kill. His decision gave a breath to the wolves.

What's the old cliche? It's not if you win or lose, but how you play the game. I, personally, had a blast.

I'm quite honestly stunned that you expected something more from Ravebomb. This is the man that once challenged to a duel literally everybody that was still alive, including the Seer-peeked final wolf in a situation where the correct course of action is just to lynch him.
But noooo, Ravebomb had to be a hero. Nevermind that if he loses the duel, penalty votes for declined duel challenges meant that an outed wolf would actually end up winning.

See, when you put it like that it sounds insane.
Except, of course, I won that one.

I wanted MEM to get rid of ICB and Rave because I didn't want their vengeful kill being triggered (though I don't know who their first choice of targets would have been), and because I thought ICB had too much cred and was likely to reveal another wolf if given the chance.
(I'm surprised no one in the end game picked up that ICB had telegraphed that dfer was a wolf on day one.)

If the shot had been triggered, I'm not sure who I would have killed. It would have been highly dependent on what was happening.
I would have used the threat of it to control the last one or two wolves, if necessary.

I don't know what Rave would have been thinking, but I told him that as far as i was concerned, all bets were off once one of us was lynched -- I would take out a wolf, full stop, and I expected Rave would take out a human. But I don't know. I did want Rave to use that threat to control them; they all knew that Rave and I were both vengeful, which SHOULD HAVE guaranteed that the power would work once. Alas, Sphen found the psychopath before we could.
Reading through the wolf and dead boards, I think EVERYONE thought it was Zark at some point.

If I telegraphed, it wasn't intentional. I couched it in a completely random noise and it gained no traction -- and honestly it had the desired effect. I don't even think that would have bought me more human cred if I'd made it to late-game. My noise with Rekard would have overwhelmed it in any case.

Rave, What is the genesis of the simple_simon quote referring to you as a pants rat?

Thank you for digging that out.
If our team loses, it's going to be entirely your fault.-rekard
If you still end up losing after this, it's totally not your fault.-Hellheart
RB: I shot the seer didn't I? Omega: Of course you did.

Just glad somebody enjoyed it besides me. I will do my damnedest to live up to the high standards I've set here in later games. Good times, all, and thank you CAD for running this.
