Mechanically, I understand. I'm just wondering if you're not losing some of the "flavor" of the party game there, since it sounds to me like the seer has to confront his targets and share his identity as he uses his power. As in, a private Reveal which compels the target.

I know not every bit of flavor will translate to the online adaptation. It just seemed like this one could.

Agreed. I think a Seer should have to say he's a Seer (but not necessarily whether he's Red or Blue) when he compels a player to share.

The GM can reply for the player, but the player should know that the Seer compelled him. (And the PM should be part of the official PM log.)

btw, can a Seer compel another Seer to share?

Seer - R/B - Twice per day, you may force a player to privately reveal all of his information to you. Seers MUST decline a Share request and cannot Reveal.

What's the difference between an Agent and a Seer? Never mind.

RaveBomb wrote:The Black - Black - If any player shares with you, you win and ALL other players lose.

Isn't The Black's win condition ridiculously easy? And won't even the possibility it might be in the game stop everyone from sharing?

Instead of a dedicated role, what if anyone in a room could be the Eavesdropper in a given round? (To better mimic actual game.)

You can make the probability of being the Eavesdropper be inversely proportional to the number of PMs a player sends out.

Since there may also be Agents in play, I guess the Seer/Agent stating that the player "Must Share" is enough, as long as everyone knows not to falsely make that claim.

Also, it might make sense if the Agent can compel a public reveal, whereas the Seer can only compel a private share.

That might better distinguish those two roles.

It seemed to me that the point of the Seer being unable to reveal/share is that they can't say 'I'm the Seer and this is what I Saw' and have it be 100% reliable to the other players. It's a Cassandra's Tears situation. They know more than anyone else but everyone has to take them at faith on it. I'm not sure how allowing particular players to know that would impact the intent. Someone with nothing to hide would be perfectly happy to take the Seer's word for anything from that point on and could 'role reveal' for the Seer (basically).

I have some trepidation about The Black as well, which seems to run counter to the idea of selective revealing. The Hot Potato is a much more interesting alternative as a 'beware of oversharing' threat, in my opinion.

You should have said, "Black will be included, deal with it!" Then not put him in.

I think different things, which are relatively cut from the same cloth (printed from the same card stock?), should be more welcomed and played here -- though I could see the argument against labeling this next in official TWG numbers -- and as this is a game I have yet to be able to experience in physical reality, I'm glad to have the chance to try it out here!

So very much in!

(though, just stating up front, I will have limited involvement Tuesday while on a trip to Hershey Park with a friend, and also on Thursday when my mother is having heart surgery.)

(also, congrats to Zark on the wee wofl!)

Argh. Real life sucks.

Ok, right now we're at 11, which is pretty much the minimum needed.

At this point, either we push it back a week and see if anyone else wants in, or we do a smaller 3 day game starting this weekend.

Seems so.

Ok, that's 17. A couple more would make it a little more comfortable, but we'll make it work. :D

Alrighty, tonight I'll finalize things, and get the boards setup. Sunday will be our Day 0 and things will proceed from there.

It looks like I'm going to miss this one. I just can't spare the time right now. But could you please add me to the Dead? This would be an interesting game to spectate.

Any way that we can get the room forums visible from the main page, as in a typical Wolf Game? Almost missed them nested under the main forum.

No, actually. I think you got some things switched when you moved the forums. I switched rooms somehow and the one I'm currently seeing doesn't have me listed as a member in the OP.

Chuck me in the dead pool as well in order to watch the madness from the sidelines. I'd have played but I'll be working this week in a location that I can't read the forums and I get no cell reception so didn't want to cause any issues due to not being able to respond to people in a timely manner.
