TWG whatever roman number it is -- Really Serenity. Gorram Real.
(nb: I was reluctant to bring this game to this board myself due to a boatload of personal issues plaguing my life in the last 3 or 4 months. From the looks of things, though, I'm guessing any port in a storm... or any game in a drought, if you will. So I'm gonna bring it, and we'll probably slow-play it out depending on how my world shapes up.)
So here we are. Back on Higgins' Moon. For real, I never thought I'd see this place again... again. Canton... Canton never changes.
I'm glad the statue isn't back. Jayne might have shown a bit of humility, or at least Impostor Syndrome, last time we were here. But Jayne never changes, either. No tellin' what moon his ego would rival if'n it were back.
At least the milk is... damn. It's the same old swill. But it's all we got. The more you have, the better it's gonna taste.
"Wash... keep an eye on things. The Reavers may be around."

OK, now that the preamble is out of the way -
Yeah, it's Serenity. Unlike the last Serenity (Jesus, how long has it been?), this time the good guys really ARE the good guys.
Not everyone is going to be a crewmember. I MIGHT have enough to go around, but we need normal humans for this as well. And some of the specials are going to be less than you think.
Anyone who participates can PM me prior to Day Zero (and Day Zero is vital) to give me the name of one Serenity crew member that you DO NOT WISH TO BE. I'll honor that to the best of my ability.
No PMs, honor system. Except to me.
No quoting my PMs. Quoting Role PMs are useless, because the role descriptions are here.
There are humans/crew, reavers, and a baddie that doesn't know the Reavers. (Yes, the reavers may be back soon, but they're among us, and you just have to roll with it because I needed bad guys.) Roles include:
Malcolm Reynolds - the Captain. Once per game, as a daytime publicly-stated action, can override the lynch vote and just name someone to be lynched. Because it's his gorram ship.
Jayne. The Hero of Canton, yeah? Nah. But he's a hell of a gunman. If he dies, he takes someone with him. Name via PM, change anytime via PM. If he's alive when the Reavers reach parity, humans win.
Zoe. Martyr -- as a night action, chooses someone. If that someone is scheduled to die as a night action, Zoe will die in their place. (CAN select anyone except herself on any night, no limitations)
Wash. The pilot -- each night chooses 2 people. Any night actions targeting one will affect the other instead. (CAN cause a reaver to maul another reaver.)
Kaylee. Faction-ish seer. Kaylee must give me a night 0 target, and will get no result from it. On night 1 and beyond, names a target. Will be told if that target is of the same faction as the previous. The categories are Crew (crew), Passengers (vanillas), and Others (reavers and others).
Simon. The doctor -- treats one person every night. If selected for the maul, that target lives for one more day.
River. The badass. Seer.
Book. Divine knowledge -- chooses a target every night. If that target is mauled, Book learns the identity of the reaver that submitted the order.
Baddies
Nishka - selects one person every night to torture. Any night actions (including maul) that target makes will fail. WILL NOT HAVE WOLF FORUM ACCESS OR KNOW THE REAVERS. Nishka is technically neutral, but doesn't actually care if the Reavers destroy Canton if it means the Serenity crew will stop being a thorn in his side. At the same time, doesn't particulary care about the Reavers' good fortunes. For that matter, neither do the Reavers.
Reavers.
Sole Survivor -- upon the first Reaver's death, someone will have been traumatized by the attack and morph into one of them. This person will be seen as their regular faction by River and Kaylee until the conversion, then will be seen as a reaver.
------
Final note: I will be reducing reliance on RNGesus as much as possible.
Ties in the lynch vote - will be decided by the longest-held last vote. For example - if Ozymandias and Omega are both tied at 6 votes at the end of the day, the loser is the person who got their 6th vote first. I will ignore (and fully explain why) any obvious attempts to game this system, such as retractions followed by immediate revote of the same person, or retractions followed by immediate votes for a third party followed by immediate retractions and voting for the original person. Obvious stuff, though, I won't be a total hardass.
Maul - the last vote is the maul victim. This allows for Nishka and Wash to work as intended.
Power deadlocks -- Early bird gets the worm. I will make everyone's powers work without conflict wherever possible, but if the powers create a deadlock then the first orders in get to execute.

So that was getting long.
Days will be 24-ish hours, as best as I can manage, but I do have a bit of travel coming up which can delay things. Plus any emergencies that may happen in my life. Plus the amount of alcohol I imbibe, which can be directly proportional to the amount of emergencies I've dealt with in the days leading up to the alcohol. But drunk GM could be fun GM.
Tentative aim for a start of... 5/21? Is that too long?

21 May sounds just fine to me; I'd suggest we continue with the "if all votes aren't in by 24 hours, extend by 24 hours" mechanic that we've been using a bit of late, to keep WoGs down. I'm definitely in, will make sure I'm near civilization around that time.

If the captain's override is a day action, it doesn't seem like it would be affected by many shenanigans at all. What shenanigans did you mean?

I'm endeavoriong to drink less when I post. A private action -- basically only Mal would know that the vote was overridden, and it'd be revealed the next day (and subject to nighttime shenanigans). However, after thinking for a couple of days in a mostly sober state, I can't do that for thematic AND game-matic reasons. He's the gorram captain, he's not going to pussyfoot around and hide the action. Plus the lynch comes at the end of the day, before night actions are processed. He's gonna come right out and say it, and throw you out of the airlock if you don't like it.
So yea, Mal's power is a daytime action and that's just the end of that.

Sure, I'll be in.
Don't forget to send the "New Game Signup" email, only heard about this because JRS clued me in (shamefully haven't checked the board since whenever my last post here was).

Someone's gonna have to direct me. I'm certain I've heard of such a feature, but I'm also certain that I never used it since the last time I RAN a game was like, 2 forums ago.
[edit] Holy crow, I think I found it. Spamming now.
Re: TWG whatever roman number it is -- Really Serenity. Gorram Real.
Hello friends. Long time no see. I am in for this. Be advised this will start right before Memorial Day so that will (hopefully) be a long weekend.
Charming, to the last.

That's a dozen. Not bad.
I'll get roles out over the next 36 hours, and day zero will be the weekend.
